2015: N.D. Terrorist Leader Mujahid Dokubo Threatens Nigeria if President Jonathan Not Re-elected

May 6, 2013

NewsRescue– This weekend, Nigeria’s Southern MEND terrorist leader, Mujahid Asari Dokubo in an hour long news conference at Abuja, publicly threatened the entire African nation of violent attack by the southern terrorist legions under his command if the current president, who hails from his region is not re-elected in 2015.

Contents of the threat can be read from this DailyTrust publication:

“The day Goodluck is no longer the President all of us who are on sabbatical will come back. There will be no peace not only in the Niger Delta but everywhere. If they say it is an empty boast let them wait and see,” said Dokubo, who as leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF) coordinated a campaign of violence in the oil producing areas.

Militant activities disrupted oil production in the Niger Delta for years until a Federal Government amnesty programme was instituted in 2009 by then-President Umaru Yar’Adua. Of recent, Nigeria’s oil production is falling again because of large-scale crude theft.

Dokubo spoke just a week after President Jonathan’s adviser on amnesty, Mr. Kingsley Kuku, was reported to have said in the United States that chaos would set in unless Jonathan is re-elected.

He said he was reiterating Kuku’s prediction of “dire consequences” should the President fail to be re-elected in 2015.

Dokubo’s latest stance on Jonathan is a departure from his comments in December when he criticised the president for allowing “greedy” and “corrupt” people to hijack his government. Dokubo had said Jonathan will not win re-election unless he got rid of those people, but none of them has been removed from the government yet.

“The President has allowed himself to be imprisoned by some greedy individuals. His goodwill will soon go and that will affect his second term chances,” he had said.

This makes two threats of violent terrorism by the “presidents men.” On the reality of the threats, NewsRescue conversation with a top security operative who declined to be named, called the threats a real plan at “subverting” the nation under Southern rebel control.

He pointed out that it is open security knowledge that the resources in the Niger Delta are now officially secured not by the Nigerian army, but rather by terrorists of the MEND platform. It can be recollected that these MEND terrorists-security agency recently with total impunity, killed 16 police officers, for nothing more than “being on their turf.”

To compound the situation and further cripple Nigerian government defense against his home-based southern terrorists, the security agent old us that the defense industry is being choked and that the government budget of N6bn is seriously less than required.

He said the the situation of destruction to the armed forces is getting so terrible and that army officers have to bribe the armory to get rifles for work, else they are given out-of-order weapons.
