Boko Haram Amnesty: Shekau Must Face Shariah Judgement

Salam,

We have read of an amnesty offer in the news, and we appreciate the governments appearance of sincerity and compassion, offering amnesty to our Northern brothers who have been involved in a battle by immoral and unethical means which only aims to cause havoc and suffering in society.

Verily Abubakar Shekau if he is still alive, must use the same public means to denounce and call off terror. But this is not enough. The foot soldiers who have been hired and recruited to wage this unislamic war against society, the Ummah and the message of Islam, even if they can be forgiven, Abubakar Shekau must submit himself to Islamic Sharia courts and accept the judgement of the deen for the crimes he has committed. This is the only acceptable method of repudiation in Islam and if he knows what is right for him, wallahi he will eagerly accept this choice and submit himself for the judicial process laid down in the Quran.

We implore on the Nigerian government to pursue this course for all leaders of the movement who have been directly implicated in the orchestration and promotion of the killing of innocent Muslims, Christians and others. This is the only fair judgement and it is in the better interest of peace, truth and justice as preached by our noble prophet and as is beneficial to society.

In pursuance of this and for a fair trial, Abubakar Shekau and other clearly convicted leaders of the Boko Haram cult, Ansaru and any other offshoots or rebrands can be sent to Shariah court in any Muslim Nation of their choosing where justice will be laid down on them and they will be obliged to accept this justice of Allah, according to Sharia, and the Nigerian government will not intercede on their behalf.

We implore the government to apply wisdom in compassion. We as Muslims and the brothers in the MuslimsAgainstTerror.com group are obliged by the commands of the Noble Quran to abide by the law of those in authority, as stated in Quran 4:59.

Yaa ay-yuhal-ladhiyna aamanuu aTiy’Ul-laaha wa aTiy’Ur rasuula wa ulil amri minkum

“Believers! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you…” (Qur’an 4:59)

However those deviants who have done these atrocities and created crises for the Ummah, and caused mischief on the land and killed many innocent people, we are commanded by Islam to hunt them, and our brothers will be torn by such government decision and may fall into disobeying the law in keeping the command of Islam for justice to those who destroy the noble deen and “kill all humanity,” by taking innocent life as Quran describes their actions. For this reason, we strongly advise Abubakar Shekau and his other generals and Nigerian government to avail them of the rightful Shariah law and justice of Allah(SWT).

Additionally some brothers will suspect that perhaps it is Abubakar Shekaus friends in the government that are striking this deal for him. All involved in this harj will burn in the fire.

Wasalam

Renounce violence, get amnesty…FG tells Shekau, others

The Federal Government said yesterday that it is willing to accept the ceasefire offer of the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad, also called as Boko Haram, and grant amnesty to members of the sect if their leader Sheikh Abubakar Shekau publicly renounces violence.
National Coordinator of the Counterterrorism Centre retired Major General Sarkin-Yaki Bello disclosed this at an interactive session with top US military (Capstone course) personnel led by Admiral (rtd) Henry Chiles at the National Defence College Abuja.
He said government is prepared to accommodate members of the group in a rehabilitation programme being proposed, but Shekau must come out through the medium he has been using, Youtube, to renounce violence as a precondition.
