According to reports, hundreds of militants stormed Mainok village around 5:30 PM and spent about four hours killing civilians. Mainok is about 45 kilometers away from Maiduguri and located in the Konduga Local Government Area (LGA).

Boko Haram also destroyed an estimated 30 vehicles and burned down hundreds of homes, according to the same sources.

He added that Boko Haram attacked drivers along the Maiduguri-Damaturu roadway, killing many of them. ”We have buried some but some were burnt beyond recognition,” he said.

A Civilian JTF member, Ba’na Umar, confirmed to SaharaReporters that about 25 bodies were taken from the Mainok village area this morning. However, “many people are still missing, [and] we don’t know the whereabouts of some of our teenagers,” he said.
