Borno State Governor Kassim Shetimma today escaped Boko Haram assassination while on his way back from a condolence visit to Bama.

The governor’s convoy was reportedly ambushed by the sect members but Shettima escaped.

The deadly Islamist sect has held Borno State to ransom. The governor recently cried out that the terrorists were about to over run his government adding that the security operatives were not equipped as the terrorists.

The presidency, in a swift reaction dismissed the comments of the governor. Also President Goodluck Jontahan chided the troubled Borno governor threatening him(Shettima) that he would temporarily withdraw the military from the state.
