Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday asked parliament to extend his medical leave, his office said in a statement, Reuters reports.

This following his traveling for 19-days.

The Presidency had claimed president Muhammadu Buhari would be away on leave for 10 days however this was false as the president travelled on Wednesday January 18th and was due back today, Sunday, making a total of 19-days planned.

Reuters reports:

“Buhari’s extended leave could hurt already-shaky confidence in his administration amid criticism that the government is gripped by inertia.”

“President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the National Assembly today, February 5, 2017, informing of his desire to extend his leave in order to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors,” the statement said.

NewsRescue had exclusively reported on the debilitating state of the president’s health. The president as we reported is suffering from severe memory loss and mental trouble as a complication of chronic disease.

The president may be suffering from encephalopathy secondary to liver or prostate cancer, a source said, and is having surgery. “His speech and movement is limited,” the source continued.

Nigerian security agencies hounded and threatened citizens planning protests due to their fears over Buhari not returning and the related events. While singer Tuface withdrew from the protests, other Nigerians vowed to continue the nationwide protests Monday.

Vice president Yemi Osinbajo continues to rule Nigeria as acting-President though many question the powers allowed him by the northern presidential cabal.

The northern cabal are desperate not to allow the Vice president take over power when Buhari’s inability to return is clearly eminent. The second man on line, Bukola Saraki who is senate president was batted by the cabal for the same reason with the northern mafia hoping for a core north third in command with the hopes of forcing Osinbajo to resign.
