Today marks four months since the abduction of the 219 Chibok girls in Bornu, Maiduguri, by the Boko Haram sect.
Though President Jonathan assured Nigerians and parents of the abducted girls that the military is doing its best to secure the release of these girls, many still find him insincere with his words as rescue operation is yielding no results, leaving parents of the girls in pain, sorrows and anguish.
The Coordinator of the BringBackOurGirls Group, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, in her effort to raise a voice and stand for the abducted girls has faced harrassment and humuliation from aides loyal to President Jonathan. In spite of this, she has remained strong and focused in her determination to bring to the government plight of the abducted girls who have long been in the den of their abductors.
As they march on the streets of Abuja to echo the cry for the freedom of the abducted Chibok girls, we expect President Jonathan to show more sincerity in his words by equipping the military with the superior weapons in combating terrorism and shelving his political ambition till the abducted Chibok girls are released.
