Sources have told SaharaReporters and PremiumTimes that the Buhari government has blamed a so-called to civil service mafia for corrupt allocations and insertions in the 2016 budget.
The publicity man, Garba Shehu had tried earlier to defend the government from one such budgeted misappropriation: the Aso clinic budget being more than that of all the nation’s teaching hospitals combined. There are several other “consultation” allocations and allocations for the house of the Senate president totaling N7bn that are sheer waste.
Initially when such corruption was found in the budget on preliminary examination and there was a public outcry, the Presidency allegedly snook the budget back and changed it. We are not sure if it was the same civil servant mafia that helped the Presidency try that stunt to replace the budget after fixing the earlier raised embarrassments.
