Members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, in , Maiduguri, Borno State have arrested three Boko Haram terror suspects at the Maiduguri Timber Market, with rifles hidden in a pickup van loaded with smoked fish.

The arrest, according to Baba Kura, came after identifying one of the suspects in the pickup van, at Pompomari Bye pass military check point, before they entered the Baga Fish Market to off load the fish.

“Initially, the suspect was resisting arrest when we identified that he is a member of Boko Haram from Bama. He even attempted committing suicide by stabbing himself in a stomach with a broken bottle snatched from soft drink hawker, but he did not die, before more soldiers rushed to the checkpoint for investigation.

“The suspect said he would rather commit suicide than for a Nigerian Soldier to kill him with a gun”, Kura said.

He said the suspect, however, confessed that he was not alone, but that there were two other suspects residing in one of the wards in Maiduguri, near the Customs Area of the metropolis.

Kura also told DailyPost that the suspect, along with the driver of the pickup van, was taken to headquarters of 7 Division of Nigerian Army for further interrogations.
