HRH Emir Sanusi of Kano, Others Call For Probe Of $9.3m Seized Cash

SANUSIThe Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, and the Coalition of Ulama  and Civil Organisations have called for probe of the $9.3 million intercepted in South Africa.

The coalition’s chairman, Dr. Musa Muhammad Borodo, made the call when he led members of the group to visit the emir.

“It is of grave concern that at this period of trials, large cache of weapons and ammunition are being imported into the country by unknown persons,” he said.

Borodo also called on govern-ment to curb foreign interference in the country’s security and to check unguarded utterances capable of affecting national cohesion by all ethnic and religious leaders.

In his response, the emir expres-sed concern over the insecurity situation in the country.

The emir, who said that the case would have been different if the jet belonged to a Muslim cleric, urged the government to investigate the matter thoroughly.
