The House of Representatives has ceased to recognise Princess Stella Oduah as the Minister of Aviation in the cabinet of President Goodluck Jonathan, Rep. Ali Ahmad (APC, Kwara) has said.

Ahmad who is the chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Justice, insisted that the minister had flouted the Appropriation Act by approving three times beyond the budget to buy two bullet-proof cars.

The House had probed the minister for allegedly approving $255m to buy the cars and last week recommended her sack by President Jonathan.

Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin at the weekend, Ahmad who represents Ilorin East/ South Federal constituency of Kwara State noted that Jonathan is retaining Stella at his own detriment after it had been firmly established that she committed a grave “infraction”.

He challenged Nigerians to speak up on the series of infractions being committed by the present administration, lamenting that Nigerians have taken the back seat and “are too docile”.

“For us at the House, the Minister of Aviation is not known to the law”, said Ahmad who last week defected alongside 36 other reps from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
