Nigeria’s Nasir El-Rufai tweets about Boko Haram violence

Nasir el-Rufai

NewsRescue- The former Minister of the Federal Capital, Nasir El-Rufai tweets about the recent Christmas day Boko Haram carnage in North Nigeria. He blames separatists, both Governmental and foreign interests for the unrest and asserts the fact that military campaigns never succeed in defeating terror, as they failed with US withdrawal from Iraq, and as remains illusionary to the US after 10 years in Afghanistan. This occurring as Israel decides to send Aid to Nigeria, a move questioned as being intentionally provocative by Israel, famous for blocking Aid convoys to its occupied, self devastated territories. Wars continue to be raged, and chronic humanitarian crises plagues South Sudan, which is now said to have an active Israeli Military base, since its separation from the North.

His tweets:

Nigeria will survive them both by God’s Grace. I am not an angry child. I am an angry 52 year old with 10 children. I buried one recently !

GEJ & FG need to rethink their strategy. The citizens need to be informed & resist being drawn into the divisions that both BH & GEJ desire!

The US spent $3 trillion in Iraq, and left without wining. Iraq is not at peace. Afghanistan? Military solutions never defeat insurgents!

The FGN prefers to unleash soldiers instead of the difficult path to real peace, because it is profitable for the security apparatchiks….

So please do not tell me BH has anything to do with Islam, Xtianity, GEJ or PDP. The Monguno & Galtimari Committees have advised GEJ, but…

BH violence was a revenge mission against FGN, BOSG, the Police & Army for unlawfully killing their leaders – is now an injustice metaphor !

The violence must stop. The authorities must cease encouraging divisions, perpetrating injustice & daring us with their corruption & waste!

You can plant a bomb with a target in mind but when it explodes, the unintended target passing by, which can be your loved one, can die too!

At the end of the day, we would all lose. Bombs, violence & insecurity like poverty do not discriminate or choose tribe, religion or region!

Those that fall for regional, religious and ethnic sentiments are either fools or have not learnt about societies that took that route.

Leadership is about accountability to the citizens here, & to God in the hereafter. How will today’s leaders say when they face God?

What is amazing is that educated people write that BH is about a north opposed to GEJ, forgetting that July 2009 was when BH went violent!

If you ever encounter our so-called security officials, hear them speak, or ask you questions, you know we have no security, only bigots….

If security officials, armed & trained, are so scared of BH, should we all not stay at home? Or is it because they don’t care about us all?
