NewsRescue[OpEd]- An open mic. at the Nuclear summit in South Korea today caught the president of the United States plea to his Russian counterpart, Medvedev to enable him succeed in setting up the defense shield. Obama told him

This is my last election… after my election I have more flexibility

Russia president Dimitry Medvedev responded:

I understand, I will transmit this to Vladmir

What does this mean? Well for one thing, it tells us something very important about democracies- what you get depends on the season, and more importantly it gives some anxiety and hope to some on what to expect from Obama after he wins the election. Maybe he will pull a ‘Carter.’ Perhaps he will turn over and defend the situations affecting the common masses and promote global peace and understanding during his second tenure as against being pro big business political party sponsors and signing policies that limit freedoms and land ownership every Friday night as has been his trademark during his first term.

We can only wait and hope for the best.
