In a viral picture on the web, the Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi III, is seen violating the basic principles of prayer in Islam, putting his wives ahead of the men in congregation.

Islamic regulations prohibit women from praying mingled among men and in front of men.

The reason for this is simple: typically men lack self control and think about sex quite a lot of the time, and a woman’s body is shaped to appeal to a man’s senses. When a woman is in front of men and she bends down, revealing her curvy backside, there are few men that will be thinking of God. Hence women pray behind a veil or at least behind the men.

However the Alaafin as seen in the picture, deliberately violated the tenets of Islam and also disturbed the prayers of his people this Eid.

The chief who appears to have leukophilia, a disorder which causes obsession with caucasian and pale skin, had his four light skinned wives immediately behind him and ahead of all the other men of the State.
