Hong and Gombi towns have reportedly been liberated by a joint effort of military, policemen as well as vigilantes.
Reports from the area indicated that military have taken control of the towns after finally dislodging the militants on Wednesday.
Gombi and Hong towns are within the Adamawa state near Mubi town which Boko Haram insurgents took over temporarily recently.
