Ahead of the 2015 Presidential elections, a group, the Northern Youth Forum (NYF), yesterday in Kano, donated the sum of N2 million for the purchase of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential nomination form for President Goodluck Jonathan.
The N2million cheque was received by the Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau, on behalf of the President at Marhaba Cinema in Kano.
Commending the group, Shekarau said the gesture was more important than the amount donated. He also called on the supporters of the PDP to work towards the success of President Jonathan.
Chairman of the group, Bello Bichi, mentioned that the money contributed was to prove to President Jonathan than he has the backing of the Northern youths. He also assured President Jonathan that the group would work tirelessly to accomplish his second term mandate.
Dignitaries present at the occasion were Minister of Youth Affairs, Boni Haruna; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aminu Wali; Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Ahmed Alkali and some other PDP chieftains.
