4957 Independent Elections Observers To Be Deployed In Anambra By Stakeholders Committee

NewsRescue– Anambra Multi-stakeholders Dialogue Summit Committee On Good
Governance Promotion To Deploy 4957 (Four thousand, nine hundred and
fifty-seven) Election Observers to all Polling Units, Wards and LGAs
in Anambra State for Guber Polls.

About 4957 independent Election Observers would be deployed by the
ANAMBRA MULTI-STAKEHOLDERS DIALOGUE SUMMIT GROUP after the Political
Debate/Manifesto Presentation of 30th October, 2013 at CANA HOUSE
CONFERENCE CENTRE AWKA.

In a Press Briefing at Nnewi on the Dialogue Summit for all ANAMBRA
GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATES, the group Committee in-charge of  GOOD
GOVERNANEC PROMOTION headed by Hon. (Pst.) UBA CHIDIEBERE N. showed
the blue-print on their arrangements for the Election Monitoring.  The
well coordinated members from the 21 LGAs of the state with their
uniforms are on ground and set for the work. The Group is a coalition
of about 725 Cooperative Societies, MFIs, SHGs, CBOs, NGOs and Civil
Societies that are based in the State.

Furthermore, the Group Publicity Director – Hon. (Mrs.) Mercy C.
Egwuatu recommended the Chairman of INEC – Prof. ATTAHIRU M. JEGA, for
all the commission is putting in place for a free & fair elections.
She added that next month’s election should be a national affair where
all structures should be in place since it is only one state election
with over Twenty (20) contesting parties.

The Group in conclusion, solicited for INEC support and partnership to
equip their members for a grass-root monitoring. This was after
disclosing to the Press that two (2) of their affiliated NGOs –
ASAAMFICS & DOWEPRI have filled and submitted the INEC EMOC 01 Form
for Election Observers since beginning of last month at INEC National
Office in Maitama, Abuja. The two(2) NGOs have grass-root effective
monitoring advantage since they are based in Anambra State of Nigeria.
