The Executive Chairman Adamawa State Board of Internal Revenue, Ahmed Idris Tuta recently broke down in tears as he was questioned by the State House of Assembly members about alleged fraud rocking the board.
According to local estate agent who does not want his name on print, the the only civil servant who is not afraid to buy property and will buy it even in the middle of the the night is Alhaji Idris Tuta, chairman, board of Internal revenue .
Alhaji Idris Tuta has uncountable numbers of houses and plots within Yola which he bought in the last five years.
When asked how he gathered this, the estate agent said “we are agents and we are like one network, anybody looking for property must contact one of us and we will know.
He continued that Alhaji Idris Tuta also owns big modern farms along Fufore road with hundreds of cows and even bought one house in Abuja during the Boko Haram ramoage era in Adamawa to relocate his family to Abuja last year.
Alhaji Tuta was last week summoned by the House of Assembly to explain his role in the alleged fraud and to give account of his stewardship.
Uncomfortable with the invitation to begin with, Tuta who could not provide answers to questions he was asked by the deputy speaker, Mr. Sunday Peter and the Chief Whip, Mr. Hassan Burguma, at a stage in the proceeding broke down in uncontrollable sobbing and tears to the utmost consternation of House members.
