Aisha Buhari left the country on Tuesday to see the president — 23 days after he travelled to the UK on medical leave.
President Muhammadu Buhari did not specify the length of his stay when he flew our over three weeks ago.
In a one-paragraph statement accompanied by photographs of Aisha arriving the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport, her special assistant on media and publicity, Adebisi Olumide Ajayi, said she is off to spend sometime with her husband.
“Her Excellency will spend some time with her Husband the President Muhammadu Buhari who is presently on medical vacation. She expressed her appreciation to the millions of Nigerians who have been praying for his quick recovery and safe return,” the statement said.
Buhari travelled on May 7, 2017.
