Confronted with local and global revelations of massive squandering of Nigeria’s resources to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars, the ousted PDP political party is crying to those who would listen that the ruling APC party members, excluding the president alone are “also thieves.”

PDP spokesman, Olisa Metuh made this position known in his latest press release. He said,

“Apart from Mr. President, who for now, is not associated with any sleaze or corrupt activity in this democracy, most APC leaders are still those who as governors, ministers and labour leaders have been the worst corrupt set of Nigerians ever to bestride the political landscape of the country.

“It is a great miscarriage of perception therefore for APC leaders who are perpetrators of sleazes and corrupt acts to attempt to deceive Nigerians with imaginary holiness in this anti-corruption war by the President.”

Observers say the PDP having realized the accounts were in the open and their unrivaled looting of the nation’s treasury was no secret and their ticket to jail, have resorted to a strategy of appropriating accusations on other politicians to press for a reconciliatory or atoning council that may enable them forfeit some loot and avoid jail time.

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has given the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC the “Yar’Adua directive,” to “go after anyone, no exclusion,” which has gotten the PDP opposition party visibly panicking.
