Bauchi Governor: 50,000 Less Privileged Youths To Access Quality Education In Bauchi

Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar has reassured the readiness of his administration to continue to accord priority to youth affairs. He said that his government is aimed at supporting the youths to become useful members of the society.

The governor stated this when he received in audience members of the National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN)  led by its national Chairman Mallam Murtala Garba at the Government house on Monday .

The governor who was represented by the state Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Pharmacist Ibrahim Madaki Itas said youths are the bedrock of democracy in the state adding that government has done a lot to improve the welfare of youths some of which include the rehabilitation of the Wailo NYSC camp, and the training of youths in various skills among others.

Governor M. A.Abubakar also said that the present administration has designed important  programmes to support the teeming youths. Just recently, among other programmes,  the M.A Youth Educational Empowerment Programme was launched.

The programme is aimed at supporting 50,000 less privileged youths across the state to access quality education sponsored by the MA Abubakar administration.

The Governor also used the opportunity to called on the teeming youths of Bauchi state to be innovative and creative in using their initiatives to complement government’s programmes to achieve its set target.

Also speaking at the event, the National President of the National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS) Comrade Musa Muhammad Jibrin commended Governor MA Abubakar for the payment of all outstanding scholarship owed by students in the state.

He described the Governor as a good and reliable friend of the youths and students in the state. He concluded with assuring the Governor of the unions readiness to work hand in hand with the Government to ensure

Earlier, the National Chairman of the Youth Council of Nigeria, Mallam Murtala Garba said they were in the state to register their support to the present administration for supporting the teeming youths in the state.

He stated that they are fully aware of the governor’s performance in youth empowerment, describing it as commendable.

He described the National Youth Council as an umbrella body which caters for the welfare of youths and assured that the organisation will continue to collaborate with the state government to ensure the development of youths in the state.

Present at the event were the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Communications Comrade Sabo Muhammad, Senior Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Comrade Yusuf Ibrahim (Champion), Senior Special Assistant Special Duties Faruq Sufee, Special Assistant Student Affairs Comrade Mohammed Jibo and Special Assistant Communications Shamsuddeen Lukman Abubakar.
