In a developing story, the strange death of Kogi gubernatorial candidate, Abubakar Audu may be the reason behind the arrests and interrogation of deputy governor Hon. James Faleke and Audu’s son, intelligence has disclosed to NewsRescue.

Not Routine Intimidation

Whereas some had speculated that the arrests were political in nature, our investigations have found that the election eve sudden death of candidate Audu is behind the arrest and not the case instituted against the election of governor-elect Yahaya Bello.

TheNation confirmed, “Faleke said the invitation had nothing to do with the case he instituted over the decision of this party, All Progressives Congress (APC) to bypass him and pick Alhaji Yahaya Bello as candidate in the rerun election.”

Faleke, the deputy governor elect has insisted on not appearing for the swearing in slated for January the 27th.

With the unlikelihood that the APC chose a sick candidate for the party governorship position, his sudden death has been treated as a possible homicide.

It is recalled that in the death of Kudirat Abiola, Nigeria’s security services investigated close family members as possible suspects.

Mohammed Audu and John Faleke were released Saturday evening after interrogation.
