A third earth tremor has occurred again at Kwoi community in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident is coming a week after a similar one cracked some walls in the same community.
The Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency, Ezekiel Baba-Karik, who confirmed the fresh earth tremor to Channels Television in Kaduna, said the latest incident happened three times in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Although he stated that no life was lost from the earth tremor, Mr Baba-Karik disclosed that a team of geologists and geophysicists from NEMA are currently in the community to ascertain the real cause of the incident that has created panic among the residents.
He however, called on the residents to remain calm and go about their normal businesses.
Second Occurrence
Previously, a second earth tremor occurred at Sambang Dagi community barely 24 hours after a similar incident was recorded at Kwoi village both in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna state, North West Nigeria.
An indigene of the area told Channels Television that the second vibration occurred very early in the morning on Monday, leaving residents scampering for safety.
There were also concerns that the earth tremor could destroy several artifacts that are located in Nok community.
The town of Nok is barely four kilometres from Kwoi where the local government secretariat of ‘Jaba’ is located, while Sambang Dagi is about 20km away from Nok.
First Tremor
After the first tremor Residents of Kwoi community in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State have been living in fear over what they described as an earth tremor which occurred on Saturday.
A resident of the community described to our correspondent on telephone how the underground vibration shakes houses in the affected community to their foundations.
He said that residents have fled their homes for fear of being caught unawares by the disturbing occurrence. – Channels
