Nigeria’s Chief of Army Lt. General Tukur Buratai has threatened to sue NewsRescue media for a damning publication exposing the deadly double-standards of the Army chief and former director of procurement.

NewsRescue had revealed that Buratai’s elaborate convoy was blocked on Obafemi Awolowo way, Abuja at 9.15 am February 14th by the Mountain of Fire Church. Our exclusive story described how the army chief turned back and followed another route in contrast to his behavior in Zaria on December 12th where he massacred youth protesters blocking his way and went on on “honour killing” spree to kill everyone related to the minority Muslim community at three other sites.

In the threat published in DailyPost, the chief of army claimed he was chilling at home in Abuja throughout the weekend.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Chief of Army Staff has not stepped out of military environment from Friday, 12th February till this morning, Monday 15th February 2016, let alone having such imaginary blockade.”

Under General Buratai the army has become a lying organ and its publicity officers are coveted by the general for his own private defense and publicity. The murder of 105 soldiers remains denied by the army and their deaths undignified, in spite of undeniable evidence.

NewsRescue stands by its story and has several witnesses to corroborate the story which was also leaked by official security sources. Our information is 100% correct. We can provide the army chief’s precise itinerary. Buratai should know that he is being watched by people he knows and things he does not know.

We categorically state our eagerness to meet the army chief in court. Let him be aware that we are preparing a very strong case against him on behalf of Nigerians for his abdication of his duty post and consequent jeopardy to Nigerian lives.

It is recollected that Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari directed the chief of army to relocate to Maiduguri in the interest of securing the nation. The army chief has however since abdicated his post and responsibilities for the pleasantries of Abuja and various unessential and secondary functions.

The Nigerian people who have been dying in Maiduguri, Adamawa and environs are eager for representation against General Buratai in court. Maiduguri has come under attack twice in recent months, an occurrence that did not happen through the end of the Jonathan administration.

Additionally in the case of the massacre of over 1000 Nigerian citizens in Zaria, with grenades and bombs; the burning alive of Nigerian youth and the raping of our women and demolition of the properties of these citizens and subsequent exhuming of their graves, NewsRescue and the people of Nigeria are preparing our legal cases against the army chief who we promise will have a very long day in court.

It is unbecoming that Nigeria’s army chief has converted the Nigerian military into sponsored terrorist agents of the intolerant  and unhinged, sectarian fanatic Saudi royal family.

We remind the army chief of the fair advice he has been given to resign and prepare for his legal battles. The ambition of one man does not supersede the survival of the nation.
