The just sacked former senator and former serial senate president, David Mark from Benue south has told his people that he trusts they will line up for him in the rerun because he by being a senator and senate president ‘uplifted them.’
How this works is not understood, but according to the sacked senator, he put the Idoma people on political history maps. However an Idoma man commented that it was the Idoma people if at all that put David Mark on the map by voting for him, even though he doubts the former senator ever won legitimately. He queried how David Mark would say that he uplifted the people when it is the electorate that lifts people to the office to represent them.
Another alleged constituent commented that the senator who led the stealing of government senate Apo quarters in Abuja, and had the juiciest mansion complete with a helicopter landing pad, only uplifted himself and left the people wallowing in shame and poverty.
David Mark’s statements as prepared in the Vanguard are as follows, “What ever the situation may be, one thing I know is that my people are solidly behind me . They also appreciate the fact that I have done more than enough to lift up Idoma nation to a position of eminence in the contemporary political history of Nigeria.
“I won the election clean and clear. If we go back to the polls 100 times , I will still win convincingly”.
