14 lawmakers of the Ekiti State House of Assembly claimed this Tuesday that some of its members had been offered bribe of $1m to impeach Governor Ayodele Fayose.
The lawmakers revealed this in statements to the press, claiming that when the DSS raided and abducted four members last week, it was for harassment and blackmail to either impeach the State governor or be persecuted by the arms of the government.
Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Gboyega Aribisogan, said Tuesday,
“In the last four days, eight of our members have been visited by some men, who claimed to be officials of the DSS.
“Our members were told that their names were among those to be arrested and that they must ‘cooperate’ if they did not want their bank accounts frozen and be kept in detention indefinitely.” Read full on Punch
