The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has condemned calls for dissolution of the country by the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) and the Arewa Youths Forum.
Speaking at the end of an emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee of NYCN held in Yenagoa, president of the association,Yakubu Shendam, described the two youth bodies as enemies of the country and urged security agencies to arrest their leaders.
Yakubu Shendam, who is also a delegate to the national conference said: “Those people calling for the division of this country are enemies and they should be arrested. The unity of this country cannot be negotiated. Today, l am on the soil of the Niger Delta and I am enjoying myself.”
