Nigerian Activist Advocate For Youth Total Engagement in Peace Building Across Africa to enabled them support Government mission.

The founder of a Non-governmental organization in Nigeria “Foundation for protecting women and children” had advocate for youth total engagement in peace building and interfaith activities in the country ,so that they could be giving their own contribution in the fight against all form of youth involvement in Crime in their societies,

According to the founder, this is  to enable them toward supporting Government, civil societies, NGOs Religious leaders, Traditional rulers as well as  Humanitarian organization effort in spreading the message of peaceful co-existence among different faith base organization in the entire Africa.

Comrade Ramatu Tijjani makes the call when she visited pastor Yohanna Buru with her team at his resident at Sabon Tasha –Kaduna south, North western Nigeria to commend him on taking peace campaign to southern part of kaduna, and  to appreciate him for taking his time during the 30days of holy month of Ramadan in donating foodstuff to the poor Muslims for breakfast.

The renown  activist says, world wide  more than 1.5 billion people live in countries affected by fragility and conflict — a majority of which is under the age of 30.

According to her, these numbers alone justify the inclusion and consideration of youths in policymaking and planning. But in practice, the meaningful participation of young people in peace building has been hindered by discourses that overwhelmingly depict youths as victims or villains.

Ramatu said it is infortance to note that ,Youth mobilization in peace-building efforts is more likely to be successful if young people are given the capabilities and opportunities to work with local and national governments.

She stressed the need to create spaces for youths to express their opinion-and listen to them, so that they can participate fully in all activities that concern promoting peace and unity in the countries at all time

Adding that there is also the need to enhance the peace-building knowledge and skill of young people in all meetings that concerns peace accord among different communities, tribe and religious,

She then calls on Federal government for the “CREATION OF INSTITUTE FOR RELIGIOUS STUDIES & COMPARATIVE STUDIES” so as to boost interfaith activities across the 36 states of Nigeria.

Responding, the general overseer of Christ evangelical church Kaduna south pastor Yohanna Buru, thanks the peace activist for the visit and promise her to double-more effort in promoting peace Clubs in both secondary and tertiary institutes in the country.

Buru concluded by saying “everyone is a stake holder in promoting peace in his community, therefore we must give the youth the chance to be participating in all matters concerning peace in our communities.

He appealed to African union AU to find means of encouraging African youth into self-empowerment programmed to fight unemployment burden, and to provide the social changes that could stop attracting African youth passing through the dangerous   Mediterranean Sea to go to Europe in search of greener pasture.
