NewsRescue- BEN TV release: The need to proffer solutions to the fragile security situation in Nigeria has prompted BEN TV, an African and Caribbean TV in London to organise an International Security Conference on the state of security in Nigeria and Africa.
The conference focuses on the challenges faced in dealing with the menace of fundamentalism and militancy which have threatened the nation’s unity, democracy and economy.

Expected to speak at the conference are: Nigeria’s Hon Minister of Information Labara Maku, Nigeria’s DG State Security Services, Ita Ekpeyong, the National Security Adviser, Rtd. Gen Azazi, Nigerian senators & members of some states House of Assembly in Nigeria, Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State and representatives of the European Business Corps; confirmed speakers attending includes Chi Onwura British MP & Keith Vaz (Chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee)British MP, Representatives of the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), Counter Terrorism Experts from the UK Home Office; British Council lead Consultant on Police Reform, Prof Olu Ogunsakin, Members of the African Diplomatic Corps, Members of the African-British Business Community, the Nigerian Business Community in the UK, Nigerian Professionals in the UK,.
The coordinator of BEN TV Conference series Tunde Alabi stated that the conference could not have come at a better time than this in the history of Nigeria. He noted that fundamentalism and Militancy has become not only a threat to Nigeria’s democracy but to the people as a nation following the spate of terrorism attacks that have killed more than 1000 innocent Nigerians. This also comes on the hill of the visit to Nigeria and Speaker of National Assembly Mr. Mark Lowcock and the called by Speaker for assistance.

The Chairman of BEN TV, Alistair Soyode said that the conference promises to be a night of networking, deliberations and international experts’ concerted efforts at assisting Nigeria and African Government build a better and safer nations.
The Conference is titled Global Terrorism: The Resurgence of Militancy and Fundamentalism – challenges and solutions. It holds on 23rd February, 2012 in London from 6:00pm to 10:30pm. Special Guest include Nigeria’s High Commission UK.
BEN TV Conference is a live event taking place in UK’s conference centres. The intention is to further allow the public have a live interactive discussion on issues of general importance affecting them as individuals, community and a nation with the government of African-Carribean nations or European governments.
The goal according to the coordinator is to proffer solutions to social, economic, political and security challenges facing African nations by bringing together world class experts and where possible representatives of aggrieves organisations and members in a peaceful dialogues and presentations.
