In a statement issued in Lafia on Wednesday by its National President, Ibrahim Kabiru Dallah, the group disowned Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, saying: it is quite unfortunate that we can not longer talk before our peers in Nigeria based on the recent statement of Gov Al-Makura”.
“As a responsible and productive youth organization in Nasarawa State, we have carefully studied the recent happenings in the news between Ms. Iorvihi who was travelling through Lafia, with her younger sister, Joi and their brother Jerry, on their way from Makurdi to Abuja and Gov. Al-Makura. But it is a very sad commentary that the Gov. Al-Makura and his goons could descended so low to uttered such words to the good citizens of Nigeria” the statement said.
“Ordinarily we would have remained silent but for the dangers it portents to our hard earned democracy, the integrity of the people of Nasarawa State and rule of law in our country , we therefore condemn the action in totality and call on the Governor Al-Makura to apologise for the embarrassment it has caused the government and good people of Nasarawa State”, the statement added.
When asked whether Al-Makura is working and Nasarawa is changing “laughs, you have known me for a long time now and I had never for once like Al-Makura ideology based on his anti-people policies, In fact, the recent statement of Al-Makura has vindicated some of us”.
When asked if Gov. Al-Makura has empowered Nigerian youth in Nasarawa State “How do you expect someone that has sacked over 7000 Nigerian youth from Nasarawa State workforce would empowered them, to us as a youth organization in Nasarawa State, Al-Makura is a ‘total failure’ in the State”.
Finally when asked whether Ms. Lorvihi who was harassed should be compensated “As a matter of fact, Ms.Lorvihi should be compensated with a brand new car and an apology letter to be published in three National Dailies and two online news platform to serve as deterrent to other public servants”.
” To this end, We urge Nigerian Youth in Nasarawa State and individuals to rise up against such statement that’s currently projecting us in a bad light before the eyes of Nigerians and international community”, the statement concluded.
