Abuja Night Club Bomb Scare

June 22nd, 2012

NewsRescue- Nigeria media, SaharaReporters and the like, reported a bomb explosion in the Crystal/Krystal Lounge, Wuse II area. We will like to assure our readers that our reporters on the ground denied this. ‘It was probably a transformer explosion’, Mr Knox reported from near Wuse. ‘Confirmed! No bomb in the club’.

Update, June 23rd, Weekly Trust:

FCT Police Commissioner Aderele Shinaba confirmed to Weekly Trust that there was an explosion around midnight but said “I am going there now. It is too early to make comment.”

He later told Weekly Trust that the bomb was thrown from a moving vehicle by a man driving on the opposite lane close to Etisalat office. “No casualty was recorded apart from the two SUVs that had their windshields and other glasses shattered by the blast.”

Our reporter who visited the area said he saw security operatives at the scene searching for clues.

“I heard the deafening sound from my room here in Zone 6,” Mohammed Sani, who resides in Zone 6, told Weekly Trust by phone.

Please exercise caution as always and report any suspicious individuals and activity.
