New Video: Boko Haram Massacred Baga Muslims “Because They Fought Back”

NewsRescue

The Boko Haram terrorist organisation has launched a twitter account: @Alurwa_Alwuthqa

The account was opened on January 18th and has already gotten over 4000 followers. Twitter is yet to delete the account.

Most of the propaganda is in Arabic.

A post of interest was of a video of a Boko Haram spokesperson, “Shaikh Abu Mus’ab “Albarnawi”, “official spokesman for Jama’at Ahlu Sunna Li-Da’wati Wal-Jihad,” the name they prefer to be known as, as they claim their fight is more than against democracy and western civilization alone as “Boko Haram” means.

Albarnawi

Albarnawi whose face was covered in the interview answered questions on why the terrorists sacked Baga and killed over 2500 people there. Baga is known to be almost 100% Muslim. When asked why the organisation was killing innocent Muslims as is widely noted in the media, if it is indeed a Msulim cult, Albarnawi said they killed those who fight them and that the people of Baga know they hold the military’s weapons and fought them and this is why they were massacred without discrimination.

He claimed that other towns like Damboa, Bama etc they had captured “without the people resisting” did not experience such massacres. This though is a lie as NewsRescue confirms the continuous exploitation and massacre of Muslims and Christians alike in Boko Haram occupied territories.

In the battle to capture Baga as with most other conquests, civilian forces are known to hold the forte sometimes better then the military. The civilians defended Baga after the military had run, finally giving up overpowered by Boko Haram. Then the massacre of everyone in the town Boko Haram could reach followed.

The Boko Haram spokesperson was asked to explain his interest in Baga, northeast of Nigeria.

He explained that Baga was a strategic military and commercial town and this was one of the reasons they conquered it from Nigeria.

He further said that the terrorist organisation was interested in capturing the Lake Chad, which is bordered by Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Cameroon and is the central source of water for farming and cattle rearing shared by these four countries. There have been skirmishes in the past over competition for the disappearing Lake.

Albarnawi further advised people not to fight them back and threatened Chad, Cameroon and Niger that if they got involved it will be an eye for an eye as Cameroon has experienced.

Chad has sent hundreds of troops to aid Cameroon in its planned battle against the terrorists.

Nigeria has continued to lose more territory to the terrorists in the Muslim predominant northeast. This weekend the northern local government of Monguno was captured by the terrorists in a coordinated attack that was also launched on the capital of ravaged Borno, Maiduguri. So far over 21 local governments out of 27 are under Boko Haram control, a land area twice that of ISIS and larger than Belgium in Europe.

Nigeria’s government is helpless in the face of the terror but has refused to arm civilians to defend themselves and also refused foreign help while continually allowing massacres of the people and losing land and livelihood to the terrorists.

Khalid al-Barnawi is the leader of one of three cooperating terror organisations operating in Nigeria’s northeast.

His group is separate from the group led by the popular Abubakar Shekau.

Khalid al-Barnawi is believed to be in his thirties and may not be a Nigerian. Albarnawi reportedly helped plan the May 2011 kidnapping of a British and an Italian engineer, who were killed in March 2012.

Dr. Peregrino Brimah of ENDS organisation recently asked questions in an article on the true nature of these independent groups divided as:

  1. Khalid Al-Barnawi of Harakatul-Muhajiriina Wal-Mujahidiin
  2. Jamaa’atu Ahlis-Sunnati Lid-Da’wati Wal-Jihad (‘Alal-Haqq) of Sheikh Bukar,
  3. Shekau’s Jamaa’atu Ahlis-Sunnati Lid-Da’wati Wal-Jihad, aka- Boko haram, led by Shekau
  4. Ansorul-Muslimiin Harakatul-Muhajiriin
