BREAKING: INEC Decides on Continuing Kogi Election After APC’s Audu’s Death

After the sudden death of APC’s gubernatorial candidate, Abubakar Audu on Sunday morning, INEC has decided on how to continue the elections.

Asking the APC to fill the space as elections will be conducted in announced 91 affected units with supplementary elections slated for December 5th. A statement by INEC read:

The commission has decided after due consideration:

  1. to conclude the process by conducting elections in the 91 affected polling Units as announced by the Returning Officer.
  2. 2. to allow the All progressives Congress to fill the vacancy created by the death of its candidate.
  3. 3. to conduct supplementary elections on December 5th.

APC’s deputy governor candidate, James Faleke may step up to the number 1 spot or the APC might choose someone else.
