BREAKING: Lawyer Withdraws Adjourned “No Certificate” Suit Against Buhari

An Abuja-based lawyer, Nnamdi Nwokocha-Ahaiwe, has withdrawn a suit seeking the disqualification of President Muhammadu Buhari from the 2015 Presidential Poll for allegedly not possessing requisite education qualification, the News Agency of Nigeria has reported.

Mr. Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe had alleged that Mr. Buhari was not qualified to contest the 2015 presidential election as he did not sit for the Cambridge West African School Certificate WASC) in 1961 as he claimed.

Mr. Buhari was represented by over a dozen senior advocate of Nigeria, led by Wole Olanipekun.

The team also had Femi Falana, Lateef Fagbemi, Akin Olujinmi, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Kola Awodein, Taiwo Osipitan, Charles Edosomwan, Emeka Ngige, Femi Atoyebi, Femi Falana, Funke Aboyade, H.O. Afolabi, and Muiz Banire.

The case had on June 16th just been indefinitely adjourned indefinitely by Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

Whether this had anything to do with the lawyer’s withdrawing the case or he bowed to the overwhelming evidence is not known.
