The call for people to protect themselves by the emir of kano Sunusi Lamido II have since yielded positive results. This is becouse people have since now resort to putting guard in almost all friday prayer mosque in kano.
The people that usually participate do that on personal ground and they believed even if killed they will die as mtyars.
One of them by name Abubakar who i interviewed insist that what they are doing is part of a self defence strategy which they have to employ to protect themselves and their people.
Cutlasses and sticks are now freely used as part of the equipments needed to protect themselves.
They further called on the government to provide uniform guards so that the mosque will be safer to pray inn.
