Dania Londono Suarez says that it would have been easy for her to steal any of the documents or plans that Obama’s bodyguards had with them in their room.
“I could have done a thousand other things. If I had wanted to, I could have gone through all his documents, his wallet, his suitcase,” Suarez said in an interview with Caracol News in Cartegena.
Suarez added that she called the police after her dispute with one of the Secret Service agents.
There are reports that the US Secret Service and military personnel took as many as 21 female escorts back to their hotel rooms on the night of April 11, just before Obama’s arrival in the coastal city to attend the Americas summit.
Of the 12 Secret Service agents originally implicated in the Colombia misconduct scandal, a total of three employees have retained their posts, six have resigned, two have been dismissed, and one has retired.
However, Suarez said that despite being at the heart of the scandal, US secret service officials have not contacted her.
Meanwhile, US Congress man Peter T. King, the chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, has called for an interview with Suarez.
“I have asked the Secret Service for an explanation of how they have failed to find this woman when the news media seems to have no trouble doing so.”
The Colombia sex scandal caused an embarrassment for the US administration and overshadowed Obama’s participation at the OAS summit. -PressTV
