#Election2015 Games: FG to honour 100; Abacha, OBJ, IBB, Queen, Lugard make Centenary list [SEE LIST]

The Nigerian government on Sunday released a list of 00 persons that have been named as winners of Nigeria’s Centenary Honours Award.

On the list is late military ruler Sani Abacha, listed in the category tagged: Outstanding promoters of unity, patriotism and national development.

It also contained the names of former leaders of the country at the federal level and some art promoters, as well as names of those who fought for the independence of Nigeria.

The list, said to have been approved by President Goodluck Jonathan, is reproduced below in full along with the categories:

The statement on Sunday added: “The Centenary Award Ceremony holds on Friday, 28th February, 2014 at 7.00 p.m. at the Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja. All award recipients should be seated by 6.30 p.m. and attendance is strictly by invitation. Accommodation is reserved for the award recipients at the NICON Luxury Hotel, Plot 903, Tafawa Balewa Way, Area 11, Garki District, Abuja from where they will be conveyed to the venue of the ceremony.
