Boko Haram Ex-Governor Sheriff Plans To Sneak Into Biu Today For Campaign

Modu Sheriff, implicated

Janjaweed Connection: President Jonathan embraces Borno ex governor implicated as Boko Haram sponsor

A report reaching KSM News from Biu says former Borno State Governor Ali Modu Sheriff, who was recently cleared by the DSS for his alleged link to Boko Haram activities in the country, is planning to sneak into Biu local government area any moment from now for the PDP electioneering campaign amidst a divided house.

Sources say the surprised visit by Sheriff and Mohammed Imam the PDP guber-candidate, may not have the full backing of the old Borno PDP stakeholders who have already filed a suit at the Abuja High Courts challenging the substitution of their candidate Gambo Lawan with Imam.

Alhaji Gambo Lawan had earlier gone to court to challenge his illegal substitution with Imam and with the courts ready to give its verdict anytime soon, the Old Borno PDP, sources say, have boycotted all Sheriff and Imam campaign in the believe that the courts will rule in their favour and re-instate Gambo Lawan.

Meanwhile a resident of Biu town who spoke to our correspondent says he has heard about the planned visit but says given Ali Sheriff’s records of visiting Maiduguri and living behind a tale of blood, he says the people of Biu will not allow him to bring them such badluck.

According to a resident of Biu, Ahmed Kida, he says some youths of Biu in protest have started fleeing the area as they do not want to be part of the former governor’s badluck, recalling to KSM News that Sheriff has never even sent condolences to the people of Southern Borno over the unfortunate Boko Haram killings and seizure of their vast farmlands there since he left office but they were surprised to learn about his political visit to the area today.
