Far-left DA punishes prosecutor for ‘deadnaming,’ misgendering convicted child molester accused of murder

Far-left District Attorney George Gascón of Los Angeles County has suspended a prosecutor for “deadnaming” and “misgendering” a transgender person accused of murder.

According to Fox News, prosecutor Shea Sanna is accused of referring to Hannah Tubbs, the infamous convicted child molester, by Tubbs’ birth name — James Tubbs — and male pronouns that refer to Tubbs’ biological sex. These sins are known as “deadnaming” and “misgendering” in the progressive world.

The nature of Sanna’s punishment, including the number of days he has been suspended, is unknown.

Sanna was the lead prosecutor in the Tubbs case, according to Fox News. However, he went too far when he “argued in the past that jailhouse phone calls show Tubbs was attempting to use gender identity to game the justice system – an argument that sources say made others in Gascon’s office uncomfortable and led to the suspension,” according to Fox News.

Sanna responded that “deadnaming” and “misgendering” Tubbs is just a pretext for retaliation. This is due to Sanna’s vocal opposition to Gascón.

“I was suspended because I spoke out against the Gascón administration,” Sanna explained. “Misgendering Tubbs while informing them that they were being played is simply their justification for the suspension.”

What is the context?
Tubbs made national headlines last year after receiving a juvenile facility sentence for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in 2014. Tubbs was 26 at the time of his sentencing.

Despite the fact that Tubbs was not a minor, he was sentenced to a juvenile facility because Gascón had a policy at the time that prohibited “children” from being criminally tried as adults. Gascón had also refused to transfer the case to adult court.

Tubbs’ case blew up after explosive jailhouse recordings revealed him bragging about his light sentence. The leniency was later revoked when prosecutors in neighboring Kern County charged Tubbs with murder in 2019.

Gascón initially claimed he had no knowledge of the jailhouse recordings. However, Sanna publicly refuted this.

“When he said he still believes Tubbs should be tried as a juvenile, George Gascón was in possession of all evidence and knew or should have known of every statement made by Tubbs,” Sanna told the New York Post last February. “Gascón was aware of all 250+ jailhouse tapes and removed me from the case the night before the hearing where I planned to play the tapes.”
