Heavily armed gunman goes on shooting rampage

According to local law officials, at least four people were murdered and several others were injured during a shooting rampage in the US city of Philadelphia on Monday. Children and a teenager were among the victims, according to officials.

At around 8:30 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired and discovered multiple victims on the scene, including two toddlers and one teen. According to local officials, six individuals were shot, four of them fatally, and two others were injured in different ways.

A suspect, who has yet to be identified, was apprehended shortly after the calls were made on Monday night, with police stating he was armed with a rifle, a handgun, a bulletproof vest, and many spare magazines. According to authorities, the offender was arrested without any guns being fired.

Police have released few more details about the incident or the victims, but have hinted that multiple crime sites may be involved.
