Hisba operatives in Kano went on rampage yesterday and today around Brigade Quarters destroying food sellers stands that mainly belonged to Igbos, yorubas and non indegines. Their reasons were that, they influence those muslims who refused to observe the Ramadan.

Many of the people at the place expressed divergent views, some see it as the right action to take in order to stop these mainly Hausa people who throng the area to eat food in the afternoon at the full glare of the people and children who always pass by and noticed these act of sacrilege to God who instructed all Muslims to observe the Ramadan.

These days, religion to some people is perceived as a right of choice but not a necessity, and this have influenced the people, especially the youths who mostly occupied their time smoking and drinking any available drug that can stimulate their brains around the Brigade and Sabon Gari area. These youths have becomes a nuisance to the many Muslims communities in kano state.

He went on by saying that also observes 40 days dry fasting, but that many of their people, especially the youths usually abscornd this responsility of observing the fast.

Others sees this as an act of intimidation and oppression, they validated their point by pointing out that islam mandates that there is no compulsion in religion, as such they expressed their reservation to this act.
