Popular black activist Tariq Nasheed has elaborately described the current intimidation of NBA star Kyrie Irving as slavery in this day and age.

The Nets on Tuesday said Irving wouldn’t be with the team because he isn’t eligible to play in home games due to New York’s mandate.

Irving is going to lose $35 million salary by missing the games.

Known for his sly remarks, Tariq described Irving’s predicament thus:

“If a group of people in power wants you to do something ….. and YOU don’t want to do it…., and the group in power threatens to punish you, if you don’t do it… what do you call that? #KyrieIrving

Responding to the oppression of his right to decide what goes into his body, Irving said,

“I am doing what’s best for me. I know the consequences here, and if it means that I’m judged and demonized for that, that’s just what it is… That’s the role I play, but I never wanted to give up my passion, my love, my dream just over this mandate.”

He continued,

“So what? It’s not about the money… It’s not always about the money. It’s about choosing what’s best for you. You think I really want to lose money?”
