COMMISERATION
The unfortunate collapse of Arch Dept building in Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil is very saddening. It is indeed a fearful shock, and melancholy.
On behalf of the National Association of Nigerian students (NANS) Zone A, we commiserate with the Management, staffs and students of the Kano State University, Wudil on the unfortunate occurence.
May Almighty Allah grant the victims good health and quick recovery.
We frown at the actions and inactions of the Shelter Resources Ltd.
We hereby call on Shelter Resources Ltd to provide qualitative health care for the victims and also demand hazard compensation for them.
Lives of students in our dear zone are very much sacrosanct to us, and it is a struggle we shall always stand for and protect in all ramifications.
We further call on the Kano state Government and security agencies to institute an investigative panel to probe the causes of the collapse and further withdraw the operation license of the firm, if found culpable.
We cannot continue folding our arms and watch our students’ lives endangered by contractors using substandard building materials.
To build a house is important to a contractor, but the guarantee of safety and saving from evils of collapse should be a paramount objective of contractors.
