Police Denies Knowledge of “Illegal” N21bn Campaign Donations to Jonathan

Amidst the criticism trailing the donation of N21bn by PDP governors, organisations and individuals to aid the re-election of President Goodlcuk Jonathan in 2015, the Nigeria Police have denied knowledge of such donation.

Speaking on the issue in Abuja on Wednesday, the Police Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, said the Police did not know about the donations or the alleged violation of the electoral law by the donors

“We are not aware of the donation and besides, there is no complainant,” Ojukwu said.

President Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party have come under heavy criticism following the donation of the sum at the presidential villa in Abuja, on Thursday.
