For the umpteenth, the city of Kano has come under the attack of the Boko Haram insurgents as another suicide bomb blast on Wednesday occurred at the Aminu Kano School of legal and Islamic studies, in Kano state killing an unspecified number of students and admission seekers.
The attack which occurred at the Central Administration Building of the school located along Bayero University of Kano along old site road was carried out by a female suicide bomber on the campus.
The bomber blew herself up in the midst of students who were checking their examination results, while some others were queued to check their names on a new admission list. Bodies lay strewn at the blast site, witnesses told the BBC.
The bomber was hidden in the crowd, a witness, Isyaku Adamu, told the AFP news agency.
The BBC’s Yusuf Ibrahim Yakasai in Kano says police have not yet confirmed the blast.
