Here is the list of  President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial nominees  announced today by Senate President Bukola Saraki:

 

Abubakar Malami, SAN:

48 year old  Malami is a senior advocate of Nigeria. He was an  aspirant  for the office of Governor of Kebbi State in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, but lost the ticket to Atiku Bagudu.  He is now been tipped to be Attorney-general of the Federation

He was born in Birnin Kebbi of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of Kebbi State on 17th April, 1967 to Late Hon. Khadi Malami Nasarawa and his loving wife Halima Malami. Attended Nassarawa Primary School Birnin Kebbi (1973 – 1979), College of Arts and Arabic Studies (1979-1984), College of Legal and Islamic Studies Sokoto (1984-1987), Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (1987-1991)Nigerian Law School , Lagos (1992)University of Maiduguri where he earned Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA) in 1994.
Abubakar has an impressive venture in the political arena. As politician Abubakar rose to become the:-National Legal Adviser of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC)

Member of the PDP Legal Team for Election Petition, 2003

General Abdulraman Dambazau:

Abdulrahman Dambazau, 61 years old  is a retired Nigerian Army Lieutenant General who served as Chief of Army Staff  between 2008 and 2010. He headed the security committee of the All Progressives Congress during the election. He is being tipped as defence minister.

Dambazau attended  Barewa College, Zaria where he graduated from in 1974. He went to the Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna as a member of the 17 Regular Combatant Course and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant into the Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army in June 1977. In 1979, he attended the US Army Military Police School, Fort McClellan.

Dambazau later obtained a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Kent State University in 1982 and a PhD in Criminology from University of Keele in 1989.

Senator AISHA Alhasan (Taraba state): The woman called Mama Taraba, was a former senator, 2011-2015,  representing Taraba North in the Nigerian Senate. As a member of the All Progressives Congress, she ran for the governorship post in April but lost to Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan is a lawyer , becoming  Taraba State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice. She was appointed the Chief Registrar of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in  2003. After she retired from service she went into business. She was born 16 September, 1959.

Alhaji LAI Mohammed: Multi-linguist, 64 year old Mohammed is a  lawyer and the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He attended Native Authority School, Igbaja for his primary education, finishing in 1962. He then went to Government College Keffi, now Nasarawa State, graduating Grade 1 in 1968 . After his secondary education, he attended Obafemi Awolowo University  and graduated in 1976, with  a second upper degree in French. He spent about a decade, as spokesman of  Nigerian Airport Authority . After a degree in law,  from University of Lagos in 1985 and Law School in 1986 , he co-founded the legal firm of Edu & Mohammed as a Senior Partner in 1989. He was the first chief of staff of former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, from where in 2003, he went to contest the governorship seat of Kwara State. He lost to Bukola Saraki, then of the PDP.

Mohammed has remained an active politician and businessman since then and had  served as the Chairman of Optmedia Limited, a subsidiary of Afromedia Plc since December 18, 2008. He served as a Director of Afromedia PLC since May 2011.  He has been  the founding spokesman of the All Progressives Congress since 2013.

 

Mr ADEBAYO Shittu: a lawyer, and former governorship candidate of the CPC in Oyo state:

 

Babatunde Raji Fashola: a lawyer, senior advocate of Nigeria and two-term former governor of Lagos State. 52 year-old Fashola, poster boy of APC’s campaign,   attended Birch Freeman High school Lagos and Igbobi College Lagos. He studied Law at the University of Benin from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws, LL.B.(Hon), degree in 1987.

 

Solomon Dalong

Solomon Dalong: also a lawyer, representing Plateau State: Barrister Solomon Dalong was born on the 26th of September 1964 in the town of Sabon Gida in Langtang South Local Government Area.

Dalong had  primary school education at LEA Primary School Sabon Gida from 1971 to 1977. He then went to Government College Keffi, currently in Nassarawa State, for his secondary school education. Jen joined  the Nigerian Prisons Service thereafter.
In studied law at the  University of Jos, graduating in 2009. He proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, in Abuja, graduated in 2000 and was called to the Bar in 2001.
He was Personal Assistant to Chief Solomon Lar when Lar was appointed as Adviser Emeritus to President Olusegun Obasanjo. he became a lecturer in 2004, at his alma mater,  the Faculty of Law of the University of Jos. He obtained his  LLM degree in 2007. He was appointed the Chairman of Langtang South Local Government Area the same year.

Kemi Adeosun

A finance professional with over 23 years experience gained in the United Kingdom and Nigeria. Mrs. Adeosun is an Economics graduate and a member of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants, England and Wales, as well as Nigeria. Attended University of East London for a first degree in Applied Economics.  Before her appointment by Governor Ibikunle Amosun in 2o11, she was the CEO of her own accounting firm Quo Vadis Partnership, which she founded in 2010. Before then , she worked for seven years  at Chapel Hill Denham Managment and two years at  Price Waterhouse Coopers. She was at various times an audit manager  for Prism Consulting (London Borough of Southwark) and London Underground Limited

*Engineer Suleiman  Hussain Adamu: representing Jigawa State:  A civil engineer, he graduated from Ahmadu bello University in 1984, winning the NPA Prize as the best graduating student. Twenty years after, he bagged M. Sc. (Project Management) University . of Reading, UK.

As an engineer, he spent  7 years in the public sector, garnering diverse experiences by supervising many government projects. Has been in the consulting industry since then. Co-founded Integrated Engineering Associates (IEA) in 1987, a leading firm of civil/structural, electrical, mechanical and environmental engineering consultancy based in Kaduna, Nigeria.

He is at present the Vice-president of ACEN, Association of Consulting Engineers in Nigeria.

 

*Amina Mohammed, representing Kaduna State:  Born in 1961,  Amina is at present special adviser to the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki Moon on Post 2015 Development Planning.

Previously, she worked as senior adviser to three  Presidents of Nigeria on Millennium Development Goals for six years. In this position, she was in charge of designing and developing government projects to reduce poverty around the country. Between 2002 and 2005, she worked in the United Nations Millennium Project as a coordinator of the Task Force on Gender and Education.

In 1991, Ms. Mohammed was a co- founder of  Afri-Projects Consortium, a multidisciplinary firm of Engineers and Quantity Surveyors that handled the Petroleum Trust Fund during the Abacha years and from 1991 to 2001 she was its Executive Director. Between 1981 and 1991, she worked with Archcon Nigeria in association with Norman and Dawbarn United Kingdom. Her nomination has triggered some protest from some groups in Kaduna State, who said the mother of six children is from Gombe state.

 

Senator   Udoma Udo  Udoma:

Senator Udoma: A  lawyer and senior advocate of Nigeria who resigned his membership of the PDP a few weeks ago. He was a-two term senator in the Nigerian  Senate, representing Akwa Ibom State

 

Dr Kayode Fayemi: 51 year old former governor of Ekiti State, Fayemi  attendedChrist’s School Ado Ekiti from 1975-1980 and received degrees in History, Politics andInternational Relations from the Universities of Lagos and Ife in Nigeria and hisDoctorate in War Studies from the prestigious King’s College, University of London,England, specializing in civil-military relations. His research and policy interests include: Democratisation, Constitutionalism, Security Sector Governance, and Regionalism in the Global Context.

*Dr Chris Ngige: Former governor of Anambra State and former senator:  Ngige was born  8 August 1952 was governor of Anambra State   from 29 May 2003 to 17 March 2006 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).  He was elected Senator for Anambra Central Constituencyas a member of the Action Congress of Nigeria in  April 2011.

A medical doctor by profession, Ngige graduated from the University of Nigeria-Nsukka in 1979. He immediately went into the civil service, serving at the National Assembly and State House clinics at different times. He retired in 1998 as a Deputy Director in the Federal Ministry of Health.

Dr Ogbonnaya Onu:  former  Governor of Abia State, Nigeria from February 1992 to December 1993. He was the National Chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party(ANPP)., until its amalgamation with other Nigerian opposition parties in February 2013 resulted in the creation of the All Progressives Congress.
Onu was born on December 1, 1951. He obtained grade one with distinction in his West African School Certificate examination at Izzi High School, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.  By 1976, he graduated with a first class honours degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Lagos. He later obtained his Doctor of Philosophydegree in Chemical Engineering (without passing through a Masters degree) at the reputable University of California, Berkeley, California, USA, in 1980.

*Ahmed Isa Ibeto, Niger State: Former deputy governor of Niger State, who resigned his position and membership of the Peoples Democratic Party in January  to team up with the All Progressives Congress in his state.Ibeto had previously been a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing  Rijau/Magama Federal Constituency.

 

*Senator Sirika Hadi: a former pilot and member of the CPC. He represented Katsina North in the 7th Assembly.

Dr Emmanuel Ike Kachikwu: NNPC Managing Director, representing Delta State: to be Minister of State in the Petroleum Ministry

Rotimi Ameachi: Lawyer and two-term Former governor Of Rivers State

*Chief Audu Ogbeh:

Ogbeh born on July 28, 1947, in Otukpo, Benue State, of Idoma background. He was a former minister in the Second Republic  and former  chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.

He attended King’s College, Lagos (1967 – 1968),  Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria(1969 – 1972) and the University of Toulouse, France (1973 – 1974). He lectured at the Institute of Education, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1972 – 1976) and headed the Department of Humanities, Murtala College of Arts, Science and Technology(1977 – 1979). In 1979 he ran for office in the Benue State House of Assembly on the Platform of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN), becoming deputy speaker of the house. In 1982 he was appointed Federal Minister of Communications, and later became Minister of Steel Development. Dr Osagie Ehanire: Dr. Osagie E. Ehanire is an outstanding surgeon and holds an (MD) of college of Medicine, Ludwig Maximillians University, Munich. He also holds post graduate Diplomas from the Teaching Hospital of the University of Düsseldorf and Essen, Germany in the areas of Anaesthesiology, General Surgery, and Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery. Dr. Osagie has served on various medical Boards both within and outside Nigeria. He was Senior Registrar, Clinical Instructor, University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Member of the old Bendel and Edo States Hospital Management Board, Consultant Surgeon, Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, Clinical Course instructor, Fracture Internal Fixation course, BG Accident Hospital, Duisburg, Germany. He co-authored the orthopaedic book “The severely injured limb” edited By John Ackroyd. He is a Nigerian from Edo State.
