Recently, Zaria made terrific headlines. These involved lost of numerous lives, inability of some parents to sponsor medical bills of their children which results to losing them and the most recent forceful removal of a 4 years old innocent child.

With our initiative in calling for attention of people on these incidences, the responses we get in return are very fruitful.

To do justice to all, I itemize some notable contributors below:

HRH EMIR OF ZAZZAU
As father to all dwellers within Zazzau Emirate and Northern Nigeria in general, the Emir solely took responsibility of all medical bills of Sadiq Usman (The eye victim) even if it has to be outside the country. He, since, has started with preliminary surgery at ABUTH Shika, Zaria.

THE STATE GOVERNMENT
Kaduna State Government, Under Malam Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufa’i, also sent a delegation under the leadership of OPERATION YAKI Commander, Hon Yusuf Yakubu Soja with Bashir Ibrahim Dabo (SA on New Media) and others. The delegation sympathized with the victim’s family and confirmed approval of the Governor to take full responsibility of the boy’s education up to tertiary level after his recuperation. The delegation also handed N180,000.00 to the family in support of his medical bills.

In another kind gesture of the governor, he also took care of surgery and other medical bills of Sadiq Yusuf, the boy suffering from sever typhoid perforation with difficulty passing stool. The delegation also handed N50,000.00 yo support Sadiq’s nutritional boosting before the surgery.

FORMER KADUNA STATE GOVERNOR
Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero
In his usual way of sympathizing with people, Dallatu, personally visited the eye victim in Shika. He sympathized with the parents and pledged to render any support needed for the well being of this boy. He also supported them with an undisclosed amount during his visit.

SENATOR SHEHU SANI
The distinguished Senator Shehu Sani in his kind gesture, sent his representative Abubakar Sadiq Dankanjiba to sympathize with the boy and his family. He delivered the Senator’s heartfelt sympathy. The Senator confirmed to me on phone that, in furtherance of Emir’s pledge, he will do anything possible in support of the boy’s treatment to regain his sight anywhere in the world. The representative, while leaving the hospital, handed an undisclosed amount in support of the boy and his family at this trying time.

NUMEROUS ROYAL FATHERS
Other traditional title holders and district head of Zazzau Emirate also followed suite and pledged to see to the betterment of the boy. These include, but not limited to, Yariman Zazzau; Alhaji Munir Ja’afar, Sarkin Kudun Zazzau; Bar. Sambo Shehu Idris, Barde Kerarriyan Zazzau; Alhaji Mansur Nuhu Bamalli and lot others.

OTHER INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS
Responses from other individuals and groups are very interesting. These ranges from phone calls, physical visits and financial supports. Even though in grief, the family are very excited with the show of love and care as far as from other countries.

APPRECIATION
With heart full of joy and happiness, on behalf of families of these children, I wish to extend our profound gratitude to everyone that supported us during this trying time. We pray for Allah (SWT) to reward them abundantly. Ameen.

CALL ON THE GOVERNMENT
In order to prevent future occurrence of this tragic incidence, I wish to call on the State Government to intensify security in the locality and other places vulnerable of such happenings. This can only be done in conjunction with our Royal fathers who are closer to the community. There should be synergy between State Government and Emirates. This will enable the government keep clear picture of security situations deep inside localities. The District Heads (Hakimai), Village Heads (Dagatai) and Mayors (Masu Unguwanni) have key and important roles to play in identifying who lives where and identifying suspicious individual.
