With President’s Consent, IBB, Gusau Plot Buhari, Jonathan Disqualification To Pave Way For Interim Govt

The hues and cries over the the government of President Goodluck Jonathan to enthrone an interim government instead of allowing the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari succeed him if he emerges winner in the March 28 presidential election is still very rife.

According to our source, President Jonathan in the face of a likely defeat at the polls has consented to an interim govt that will keep Buhari away from the presidency even if he has to forgo his second term ambition.

To achieve this, the president has given a consent to former president Ibrahim Babangida to spear head last minute moves that will see to the disqualification of himself and Buhari, which will make it impossible for the conduct of the sheduled election, thus paving way for an interim government.

The plot to have Buhari and Jonathan disqualified would be done through the court of law but it is yet unclear what the basis of the suit seeking their disqualifation will be for.

Although, both Jonathan na d Buhari would lose out of the contest if the case to be instituted succeeds, the target of the plot is Buhari whom the powers that be including former president Babangida are scared of seeing becoming the president.

Gen. Aliyu Gusau (Rtd)

To this end, the former President Babangida and Nigeria’s minister of Defence, Aliyu Gusau on Saturday night held a secret meeting to fine tune how this plot would be hatched. We are yet to get the details of the meeting, but our sources said the discussion centred around the interim govt plot.

Curiously, an online newspaper, Empowered Newswire had two weeks ago made days revealed how Jonathan, Babangida and other top members of the Jonathan government are planning to forestall the emergence of Buhari and enthrone an interim government.

The report which we republished gave details of the plot with former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar, President of the Senate, David Mark and minister of defence Aliyu Gusau tipped to head the interim government. Similarly, the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), said yesterday that the party is in possession of evidence.

Former governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, while speaking during the 40-day Fidau for the late Pa Jejelola and Mrs Raliat Akingbolu stated that has evidence to back up its claim that President Goodluck Jonathan was allegedly planning to constitute an interim national government, adding that “President Jonathan is becoming desperate by the day and he will stop at nothing to return to government.”
