In September of 2014 Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah of the Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies issued a Fatwa against ISIS‘ violence. It is a comprehensive verdict that explicitly condemns virtually every principle of the bloody Middle East rooted ISIS/ISIL terrorist body. There is no true Muslim that does not realize that ISIS with their Asian and African arms which include the barbaric Boko Haram cult of West Africa, are deviant, misguided mischief makers who have been hoodwinked into an allegiance with Satan. There is no place for the maniacal behavior of ISIS, Boko Haram and other partners in the pure peaceful Islamic deen.
Unfortunately it is evident the United Nations is not particularly interested in taking any decisive step to check this radical menace that most significantly threatens Muslim habitations. In contrast to decisions made against relatively harmless and contained Saddam Hussein and Libya’s Gaddafi, the real and active ISIS menace has escaped UN attention. There is no defined coalition and declaration of war against the various ISIS strongholds across the Middle East, Asia and Africa. ISIS continues to sell oil freely and use the proceeds to build and enlarge its empire and bases across the world, within Muslim territories.
The Boko Haram branch of ISIS, otherwise known as Islamic State in West Africa, this January massacred over 2500 mainly Muslims in the fishing community of Baga in northeast Nigeria. ISIS is extremely deadly and has its sights on eliminating Muslims across the world and causing untold hardship. The organization is a sinister one with suspicious leaders who are analyzed to be agents of anti-Islamic covet agencies with a mission to destroy Islam and massacre Muslims from within. The prime target of ISIS, Boko Haram and its other arms is the annihilation of Muslim communities around the world. ISIS in Libya is growing so strong while NATO, The US and UN look the other way; it is an army that can terrorize and destabilize north and west Africa for decades. This is a major menace to Africa and a hot pot readying to explode. No one cares. Over 100,000 have already been massacred in Nigeria’s majorly Muslim north and the pogrom continues with 160 killed just last week in a single attack. Iraq is a mess, Libya is a mess, Nigeria’s predominantly Muslim north is a mess, Syria is a mess. What are we waiting for?
In view of the above, there is a desperate need for Muslims to act in the interest of their lives now and in the future. Muslim state organizations like the OIC, Organization of Islamic Countries have not fulfilled their obligations to be decisive in checking the ISIS terror menace. At this stage it is unfortunately recognized that the leaders of Muslim countries are either incapable or unwilling to take the urgent and necessary steps to intervene and decapitate this monster before it takes over. Muslim traditional leaders in countries have done too little; enjoying their temporary peace and freedom and have for too long not risen to this global threat that should be their top priority.
It is time for God-fearing Muslims and Muslim scholars around the world to gather together, hold internet and physical sessions and decide on a pathway to militarily and ideologically crush ISIS. It is time for the primary Muslim conversation to be concrete steps at checking and extinguishing ISIS.
Sheikh Bayyah said, “We must declare war on war so the outcome will be peace upon peace.”
The Muslims Against Terror organization in partnership with African People’s Union hereby impress it on Muslims who read this Press release to assemble via the internet and physically to plan a strategy against ISIS. This is a Muslim duty to humanity and to the Creator. You can email brother@MuslimsAgainstTerror.
We call on Al-Azhar, we call on Muslims in Pakistan, in India, in Iran, in Iraq in Lebanon, in Sudan, in Senegal, in Nigeria, in America and all over the world to participate. You may volunteer to fight, you may contribute financially, you may help with the ideological battle or your prayers may be your contribution; but one way or the other Muslims must all take a part in defeating this enemy of Islam. As the Quran advices, be united and you will succeed.
On the authority of Abu Sa’eed al-Khudree (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, “Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.” [Muslim]
