Nigeria: Sprouts Of Radio Biafra Pro-Kanu Protests As Shops Remain Open For Commercial Activity

A handful of Radio Biafra protesters were seen on the streets of Onitsha and Port Harcourt as there was a heavy police and the army presence in the regions of the proposed million man march.

Radio Biafra had promised a million man march for the incarcerated manager of Radio Biafra, Nwannekaenyi Kenny Okwu-Kanu, aka, Nnamdi Kanu who was arrested by the Nigerian security officers in Lagos, Nigeria on October 14th this year and is being held on charges of treason, illegal association, incitement of terror, sedition and other related charges.

The station had promised for all shops to be shut today and commercial activity stopped, however our reporters and everyone who called in to the station noted that all the shops were open and did not observe the requested solidarity for Nnamdi Kanu.

The radio host, Uche Mefor was visibly upset, castigating a caller from Abia for saying that nothing was happening. He said,”are you an IOPB family..that you are obviously not one of us if not you will not come here and be saying what you are saying in public..that there is no one and business is as usual.”
