Former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili was Monday morning arrested by security agents at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on her way to London for a scheduled engagement.
Mrs. Ezekwesili tweeted: “No ONE can SEIZE my DEMOCRATIC RIGHTS. I REFUSED to let the SSS GET AWAY with TRAMPLING on my CONSTITUTIONAL RIGTH.”
The operatives confiscated her travelling documents, she said.
The former minister is one of the leaders of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign group, which has been consistently pressurising the federal government to act more decisively in rescuing the over 250 schoolgirls abducted from their dormitory by the extremist Boko Haram sect over three months ago.
